Exceptional, Passionate Representation

Terrie L. Robinson has practiced in the areas of appellate, regulatory, legal ethics, and labor law for thirty years. She found her passion protecting tribal cultural resources as the General Counsel of the California Native American Heritage Commission (NAHC) from 2013 - 2019. She is an Appellate Judge for the Wilton Rancheria.

 

Prior to joining the NAHC, Ms. Robinson served as Senior Board Counsel to the Chair of the California Agricultural Labor Relations Board; Staff Counsel to the Chancellor’s Office, California Community Colleges; and Staff Counsel to the California Earthquake Authority. She is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Ms. Robinson also served as Legal Ethics counsel for the State Teachers' Retirement System and as Directing Attorney for the Sacramento Office of California Indian Legal Services. Before entering State service in 2005, Ms. Robinson taught at several law schools and was an Assistant Professor at the University of Mississippi School of Law; served as litigation and appellate counsel for several law firms; and was a regulatory attorney for Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

 

Ms. Robinson clerked for Judge Cecil F. Poole of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and is a former president of the Charles Houston Bar Association. She holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Stanford University, a Master’s in Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University, and a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School, where she served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review.

Ms. Robinson is a fifth-generation Californian, born and raised in Sacramento.
